The Library of the NSDRC, Visakhapatnam, was established in 1991 and renamed as Indian Maritime University Library, Visakhapatnam Campus, on 1st April 2009. This is regarded as one of the best Maritime Libraries in India. IMU Visakhapatnam Campus heralds the integration of visionary academic insight with the accumulated professional expertise and knowledge base on Ship Design and Maritime Technology.
The library in IMU has a collection of sources of information and similar resources related to Maritime, Export and Import trade, World trade history and Logistics Sector, etc. are made accessible to the students of IMU for reference or borrowing.

The Knowledge Resource Centre of the campus is the LIBRARY centrally located on the ground floor surrounded by classrooms and faculty chambers. For the last decade, the library has been the lifeline of the academic activities of the campus. It has been catering to the needs of students of undergraduates, postgraduates, research scholars, faculty members and staff members of various departments and schools.
