IMU has a specialized Labs for maritime departments like B.Tech Marine engineering, B.sc Nautical science, B. Tech in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering rather than theoritical knowledge, practical knowledge makes a student more understand of a subject.
Laboratories for carrying out experiments in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Fluid Mechanics, Material Testing, Noise & Vibration, Electrical, Electronics and Ship Drawing lab are available in the campus. To keep students abreast with computer applications in ship-building industries, a CNC lathe lab has also been included in the curriculum.
These labs helps to train the students who are interested to get a job in ships.
