About The Campus

Indian Maritime University - Visakhapatnam Campus was previously known as National Ship Design and Research Centre, NSDRC. Pioneered in the early '90s by the Government of India to pilot and consolidate national domain knowledge with global vision, NSDRC has undertaken several milestone projects in the areas of Ship Design, Construction and Applied Research. Presently Visakhapatnam Campus is located in VANGALI village of SABBAVARAM Mandal in a newly built campus within 100 acres of land. The office has a Main Building Complex consisting of 3 floors in a plinth area of about 4140 Sq.m. Talking about the infrastructure, the Library of the NSDRC, Visakhapatnam, was established in 1991 and renamed as Indian Maritime University Library, Visakhapatnam Campus, on 1st April 2009. This is regarded as one of the best Maritime Libraries in India. IMU Visakhapatnam Campus heralds the integration of visionary academic insight with the accumulated professional expertise and knowledge base on Ship Design and Maritime Technology.
