Economic Advisor heads the economics & Statistics Wing. He advised DoF on various issues having economic implications. Other subjects dealt with by the Wing includes – S&T projects; issues pertaining to balanced fertilizers, soil health cards etc. Subject relating to renewable / non- renewable energy; clean technology & general environment issues; Quarterly Review Meeting of PSUs; compilation of MRP data of P&K fertilizers companies for different subsidized P&K fertilizers.
The wing also deals with the compilation of FMB prices of finished fertilizers and indigenous production cost of important P&K fertilizers.
The E&S Wing also looks after production data of various fertilizers and deals with Techno-Economic Clearance (TEC) for project imports for Renovation / Modernization / Revamping of existing fertilizer plants on the basis of two-stage clearance / procedure.
This wing also provides economic analysis of specific importance assisting in firming up of policy issues.
In addition, Supply / Demand / Price Forecasting of Various Fertilizers / Raw Materials / Intermediates are also looked after by Economic Adviser. He is also the Nodal Officer for Skill Development activities in DoF. The Economic Adviser is assisted by Director E&S. The wing has 2 divisions :-
