History of Customs (Preventive), Delhi Zone

Customs (Preventive), Delhi Zone was formed on 25.10.2002, vide Notification No.14/2002-Customs (N.T.) dated 07.03.2002 read with Notification No. 63/2002-Customs (N.T.) dated 03.10.2002 issued by the Central Board of Excise & Customs (Now, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs), New Delhi.

Initially, the Zone has jurisdiction over Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate, Delhi; Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate, Amritsar (preventive work only); and Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate, Jodhpur; from 25 October, 2002 to 14 October, 2014. Since 15 October, 2014; the Zone is having jurisdiction over Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate, Delhi; Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate, Amritsar; Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate, Jodhpur; and Customs Commissionerate, Ludhiana.
