Electrical Engineering Division

About the Division:

  • Design, planning, Estimating, and Tendering work of different electrical items like installation of new machines, cabling work, and renovation work.
  • Monitoring of EPBAX system, CCTV, Projector, PA system, Nurse call system, and talkback system.
  • Electrical Division is responsible for maintenance and preservation of equipment’s and systems that supply electricity to Hospital, Academic, Administration, Nursing including residential buildings at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, and ensure the supply of safe and healthy electricity 24x7 round the clock.
  • The main areas of general electrical maintenance commonly include the power Substations, online UPS, Diesel generators, Pump houses, lift systems, Internal & external lighting, and electrical maintenance of the hospital.


Major Achievements:

  • During Cyclone “FANI” which hit on 3rd May 2019, heavy damage occurred to the Electrical and HVAC Systems of the entire AIIMS Campus. The regular power supply feeders were destroyed on the Grid and the entire campus got uninterrupted electricity by managing the backup system properly. To restore the regular power supply from Grid, a lot of coordination and cooperation were made with CESU and OPTCL personnel, and finally, we got electricity within 2 days just after the completion of FANI. This is the probably first campus to get electricity very soon in Bhubaneswar.
