Head of the Department
- Engineering Department consists of 3 Divisions viz. Civil, Electrical and AC & R Divisions.
- The Department is responsible for construction of new Projects and Maintenance of the existing hospital infrastructure, water supply, electricity supply, sewage disposal, CTO, CTE, Horticulture etc. which are some of the major activities; Engineering Department takes up.
- AMC’s of Civil maintenance, Electrical maintenance, HVAC maintenance, O&M of substations, O&M of Pump House, O&M of lift’s are some of the day to day works of the department.
- The department also takes up various matters with different State Government Departments such as WATCO, OPTCL, TPCODL ,TPNODL, OSPCB , PCCF , Fire Department , Sewage Board etc.
- The Department is headed by Superintending Engineer under whom 3 Executive Engineers are there. Though Assistant Engineer Civil, Electrical and Air conditioning posts are available in the sanctioned strength but not filled up so far. The Department has full strength of JEs. The required nos of technicians for various works have been taken from the outsource agency.
- Apart from the main Hospital and Housing Complex ; Engineering Department is also looking after the Construction and maintenance of the Satellite Centre, Balasore and Training Centre at Mendhasala and Tangi.
- Many new Projects such as Dharamshala, Type- V building , Burn Unit , Hostel building , Balasore Satellite centre have already been Handed over.
- Many ongoing Projects such as New Admin Building , Trauma Centre , Police Out post building are under progress and shall be handed over shorty.
- Construction of new main gate, covering over the OPD foyer, installation of Solar power station, various modification inside hospital, Renovation of Mini Auditorium
- Creation of Lush green lawn in front of OPD , Signage work ,foot over bridge, Tennis court , Basketball court . Commissioning of new Cooling Towers, repair/maintenance of the entire HVAC & Firefighting system, development of Bio Medical waste yard, Public toilets etc. are some of the major achievements of the department.
