Undergraduate: B.Sc (Hons) Nursing

Outline

B.Sc. Nursing program at College of nursing AIIMS Bhubaneswar is a 4-year course. The course includes classroom learning and practical sessions.

A total of 75 nos. Female candidates are admitted through a national entrance exam conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

Eligibility

  1. Is an Indian citizen
  2. Only Female candidates
  3. has attained or will attain the age of 17 (seventeen) years as on the 31st  of December of the year of admission.
  4. Has passed the 12th class under the 10+2 Scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination or Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination from a recognized University/ Board of any Indian State with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  5. has a minimum aggregate marks required in qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 or equivalent: with 55% for Gen/OBC (NCL)/EWS (50% in case of SCs/STs categories) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Note:

  • Candidates who are due to appear at the qualifying examination, or have already appeared and are awaiting the result, can also apply for admission. But such candidates must furnish proof of passing the qualifying examination with the requisite percentage of marks and subjects at the time of counseling failing which their candidature will be canceled.

Admission procedure: Admission for B.Sc(Hons) Nursing course is done through All India Entrance Test conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi during the month Apr-Jun every year. For details visit www.aiimsexams.org.

Outline

M.Sc Nursing at College of Nursing, AIIMS Bhubaneswar is a 2 (two) years course. The course includes classroom learning and clinical experience in respective specialties.

Students are required to submit a dissertation as partial fulfillment of the program. Students are given experience in education, and administration by organizing conferences or workshops.

Total seats: 25

Eligibility

(i) B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing /B.Sc. Nursing (Post-Certificate)/Post-Basic /B Sc. Nursing (4years) course from any recognized University, from an educational institution Recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, with 60% marks for Gen/OBC candidates (55% marks in case of SC/ST candidates).

(ii) Registration as Nurse, RN, RM (Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife) with any State Nursing Council.

Note 1: For Indian Nationals, 5% reservation for Person with Benchmark Disability shall be provided on horizontal basis, in the seat available in M.Sc. Nursing courses. Eligibility criterion for candidates under this category as per the guidelines finalized by Nursing Council of India as amended from time-to-time.

Note 2: Candidates who are due to appear at the qualifying examination, or have already appeared and are awaiting result, can also apply for admission but such candidate must furnish: - Proof of passing the qualifying examination on or before 31st July, 2021 with requisite percentage of marks and subjects failing which their performance at the Entrance Examination will not be considered. - All M.Sc. Nursing Candidates can submit certificate of Registration as a Nurse and Midwife from the Indian Nursing Council / State Nursing Council at the time of Seat Allocation/joining if they are selected. - All selected candidates for M.Sc. Nursing courses are required to furnish the proof of recognition of their college at the time of verification of their documents.

College of Nursing, AIIMS Bhubaneswar has well-ventilated classrooms, Air Conditioned with comfortable seating arrangements. Each classroom is equipped with Laptops, white projector screens; LCD, and a public address system/Sound System.

The department’s main objective is to impart basic knowledge of computers to nursing students. The faculty helps the student to know how to use Basic Applications like MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Paint. Other than application students are also oriented in using the internet for searching databases like EBESCO, CINHAL, PUBMED, etc. All these activities are intended to make students more equipped in using the computer for their curricular and extracurricular activities.

College of Nursing AIIMS Bhubaneswar has a Mini Auditorium have a seating capacity of 200, Other than the Mini Auditorium Institution has a Main Auditorium on the campus having a seating arrangement of above 1000.

Sports and Fitness:

AIIMS, BHUBANESWAR Campus is Developing Sports and fitness areas day today. Presently the campus has 2 badminton Courts with floodlights, Basketball Court, Football Court, Volleyball Court, Play Ground & Gym.
