About the Department:

The Department of Dermatology and Venereology was started in 2013. At present, the department has two faculties, six junior residents, and three non-academic senior residents. OPD is functioning six days a week, Monday to Saturday, and a 15- bedded IPD is operating on the third floor (D3). The department is conducting various dermatosurgical and cosmetic procedures with the help of a radiofrequency machine and fractional carbon dioxide laser. The department is in the process of procurement of NBUVB, ND:YAG, and excimer lasers.

Message from Head of the Department/Division:

Our department aims to fulfill the goals of AIIMS Bhubaneswar; evidence-based learning and teaching, active research, excellent patient care, and capacity building. The department is indulged in academic activities like journal club, seminar and case presentation, and discussion. In addition, to six days per week OPD, we are catering special clinic services on Wednesday and Thursday. The residents are being trained to be equipped with up-to-date knowledge, independent decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities related to the subject.
