Message from Head of the Department:

My warm greetings to all the faculty, staff and students of this prestigious Institute. The Institute has grown up from one of the few new AIIMS apart from AIIMS, New Delhi in its formative year to be one of the most sought-after medical college & hospital in India.

Me and my entire team of Exam Cell take pride in contributing to the evolution of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. Many of our MBBS passed out students have cleared All India Post Graduate Examinations conducted by various INIs like AIIMS, PGI Chandigarh and B.Sc Nursing students in IIT Roorkee and PGI. This is itself a sense of contentment to all of us. This speaks that our evaluation process is moving in right direction and we continue our sustain effort furthermore.

We are supporting the Institute in augmenting the strength of Senior Residents and Junior Residents. Exam Cell has also been facilitating the Administration for various faculty and non-faculty recruitment process both in AIIMS Bhubaneswar and AIIMS Kalyani..

During this Covid – 19 pandemics, we are here at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar has successfully conducted the EXIT professional examinations observing Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB). All the Clinical/viva of the PG examination were successfully conducted through online mode, which was a revolution.

Amidst the above, last year, Exam cell has taken few initiatives towards better management of waste materials for disposal. Exam cell has initiated shredding of old answer sheets by segregating the unused sheets and bound together to prepare long exercise copies for Students and staff to purchase. This resulted in further saving the precious paper wasted and adding revenue to the Institute. The shredded paper also derived additional revenue. This is a win -win situation for both Exam Cell & the Institute as we had tried to make efforts towards being environment friendly and also adding up with whatever little revenue earned from it.

The answer sheet was modified and two types of the same were printed. One was for the professional examination with regular booklet size & sheet, while the other was for the internal examination with containing less sheets. This resulted in avoiding wastages of the valuable stationery which were used in internal examinations earlier.

Now, Exam cell has been able to add up a new exam hall from refurbished unused area within the campus. This new Exam Hall is expected to accommodate around 100-110 students in a single sitting following COVID Appropriate Behavior. However, under normal conditions the student strength may increase up to 150.

We are now in the process to implement National Academic Depository promoted by UGC, Govt of India. We have successfully completed all professional examinations for MBBS, B.Sc (H) Nursing and Para Medical Examinations in the past year with minimal deviation in the exam schedule even during the corona pandemic.

Major Achievements: : 

• Conducted Exit Professional Examinations for all academic courses on time with minimum deviation in schedule during COVID pandemic.
• Implementation of NAD as per UGC direction (under process).
• Facilitating the recruitment in AIIMS Kalyani & Guwahati
