About Us
History
The College of Nursing, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar has been established in the Year 2013 under the Pradhan Mantri Swastya Surakha Yojana (PMSSY) with the primary objective of correcting the imbalances in the availability of affordable and reliable tertiary level healthcare in the country in general and to provide facilities for quality medical and nursing education in the underserved states. The admission process was started in 2013. The first batch of 60 B.Sc. (Hons) nursing students were admitted in July 2013 through the All India entrance test conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi and academic activities began in September 2013.
Mission
The mission of the College of Nursing is to establish a national-level nursing institute that excels in nursing education, training, practice, and innovative research imbued with professional values to contribute towards a healthy society. Prepare nurses to make independent decisions in nursing situations, protect the rights of and facilitate individuals and groups in pursuit of health, function in the hospital, community nursing services, and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice
Vision
The College of Nursing strives to create nursing professionals, undergraduates, and postgraduates with proficiency in core competencies like patient-based care, professionalism, communication and teamwork, safety, evidence-based practice, and leadership.
Philosophy
The College of Nursing believes that the success of patient care and the reputation of the hospital largely depend upon the extent of efficiency of nursing care provided by the nursing personnel.
College of Nursing, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar is dedicated and committed to train and educate nurses by offering premier quality teaching, instructions, and guidance in clinical and research areas and modern nursing care to meet the needs of the individual, family, community, and society.
The Nursing training is imparted such that the students imbibe the set of core values for nursing professionals like integrity, respect, people-orientation, fairness, loyalty, accountability, and professionalism.
We will promote interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, pharmacists, and social workers to improve the safety and quality of health care. The nursing professional will be trained to manage hospital and health information systems critical to health care organizations in the era of health informatics
